GenFlex Roofing Systems...

Is a leading, full-line supplier of single-ply roofing products for the commercial market. Headquartered in Maumee, Ohio, GenFlex manufactures, markets and sells its products through a network of distributors, sales agents and authorized roofing contractors.

Carlon Roofing and Sheet Metal®  offers the complete line of GenFlex Roofing Products:

TPO Single Ply

Heat-welded thermoplastic roofing membranes are the fastest growing segment of the low-slope roofing market and GenFlex TPO is an excellent system choice. GenFlex TPO roofing systems are designed for durability and to withstand extreme environmental exposure. They can provide the right solution to your project regardless of configuration, usage, slope, height, location or wind exposure.

Thousands of roofs have been installed with GenFlex TPO membrane and protect valuable properties including commercial buildings, retail facilities, hospitals and numerous schools and institutions.

GenFlex TPO Membrane , a high quality thermoplastic polyolefin, offers the "best of both worlds" … the proven weathering resistance of rubber (derived from its high ethylene propylene rubber content) and the performance of hot-air welded seams.

A Cool Roof of GenFlex white TPO can reduce energy consumption and reduce problems associated with urban heat islands, including heat buildup, smog and air pollution. Cool Roof systems deliver high solar reflectivity (65 or higher) and high emissivity (80% or higher) while reducing electrical demand and improving building comfort. Less cooling system wear and tear also means reduced maintenance expenses.

EPDM Roofing Systems

GenFlex EPDM roofing systems are designed for durability and to withstand extreme environmental exposure. They can provide the right solution to your project regardless of configuration, usage, slope, height, location or wind exposure.

Thousands of roofs have been installed with GenFlex EPDM membrane and protect valuable properties including distribution centers, retail facilities, hospitals and numerous schools and institutions.

GenFlex EPDM systems are suitable for both new construction and re-roofing. Seams are secured with GenFlex self-adhesive tape - a strong, reliable seaming method. This is a high performance membrane - resistant to tears, impacts, punctures and normal roof traffic. GenFlex EPDM has the system choices to fit specific projects and the options to meet fluctuating budgets.

GenFlex EPDM membrane is installed either ballasted, mechanically attached or fully adhered. Normal structural movement has no effect on its integrity and the membrane provides excellent resistance to ozone and ultraviolet light exposure:

Anchoring Systems

  Bar Cover Tape

Regularly used in situations where the roof is subject to extreme weather conditions, such as extensive thermal variance and heavy winds. This is the top selling EPDM mechanically attached system offered by GenFlex.

Fully adhered
A system often used for installations with unusual or odd-shaped contours. Fully adhered systems install with a continuous, even surface, have no mechanical penetration of the membrane and add minimal weight to the deck

Ballasted
Used on substrates capable of supporting the dead load of this system, the Ballasted system is preferred for installations where speed and economy are prime considerations. Insulation, as well as the membrane, may be loose laid with the membrane fastened only at the perimeter.

Bar in seam
Designed for those applications where it is desirable to use 2.0m (6'5") or 2.3m (7'5") wide sheets of GenFlex EPDM membrane. This system provides a roof of exceptional strength and integrity.

energy star small.bmp (9366 bytes)  Installing a Cool Roof system  will produce cool savings. The use of reflective roofing materials or Cool Roof systems is one of the best methods for
keeping solar heat out of buildings and increasing energy savings. White Cool Roofs stay 50 to 60 degrees F cooler at peak times than traditional
roofing membranes offering important benefits to building owners and contractors while protecting the environment from the negative effects of
urban heat islands. Cool Roofs stay cool for reduced electrical demand, increased energy savings and improved building comfort. Less cooling system wear and tear also means reduced maintenance expense. The magnitudes of energy savings also depends upon building type,
level of roof insulation and ventilation rate.

GenFlex white TPO and white RM (PVC) carry the EnergyStar label for approved energy saving roofing products. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's EnergyStar labeling program identifies roofing products that can reduce energy consumption and reduce problems associated with heat build-up, smog and air pollution.
